Hallelujah! I Have Found Him, J.G. |
|
While growing up in a Christian family in the local church, I definitely had genuine experiences of the Lord. However, after I had completed my nursing studies, I moved to another city for job experiences. During this time, I became more confused and disillusioned with my experience of the reality of God. I doubted His existence continually. I came to a point in my life where I wanted all or nothing. I no longer wanted to be a lukewarm Christian (Revelation 3:16) that met just once a week. When I looked at my parents, I realized God has to be real. Maybe He wasn't real to me, but He definitely was to them. They lived for Him. This was what I wanted. So at this time I decided to go to the New Zealand Training Center (NZTC), which is a Bible college in New Zealand, for two years. I wanted to give the Lord time in my life to prove Himself real to me. I appreciate the verse: that they might seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him... (Acts 17:27) This verse became my experience throughout my time at the NZTC. I realized that God desires to be sought after, to be inquired of, to be found. He wants us to ask Him His ways. He really honors a seeking heart. At this time God became my God, One so very real and experiential to me. Hallelujah! I have found Him Whom my soul so long has craved! Jesus satisfies my longings; Through His life I now am saved. (Hymns, # 325) |
